BOWER: OUR ULTIMATE SPRING PLAYLIST

The relationship between music and memory is a powerful one. It’s been called a music reminiscence bump and has an uncanny way of bringing us back instantly to a specific point in time. It’s why The Bower team has created the ultimate spring playlist for you, and will forever be the trigger for a raft of memories from your unforgettable Byron Bay getaway.

We’ve got The Bower pool sorted for you – magnificently. Sparkling clear, gently heated mineral water, luxury canopied day beds separated by private tables and billowing curtains, hidden nooks to cosy up in or green expanses of lawn to throw your fav Turkish towel down for a bit of sun-soaking, surrounded by towering palms and lush under plantings.

And we’ve got the accommodation sorted too of course, with The Bower’s 14 bespoke boutique hotel suites which blend beautifully the cool, urban style of Manhattan and Byron’s laid-back beach lifestyle, the most romantic, private Barn for just two or a small family, the elegant, open-plan interiors and lush outdoor spaces of Bower House designed for families and friends and Bower Cottage, the original 100 year old dwelling which leaves tradition at the front door and weaves in sophisticated, five-bedroom luxury accommodation for the ultimate family getaway. Our 5 star Bower compound combines everything there is to love about Byron in one superbly laid-back location.

Byron has the beaches sorted with Wategos, Clarkes and The Pass, the food and bevies sorted with the most eclectic offering of restaurants and bars such as The Mez Club and Three Blue Ducks, and of course The General Store and its divine something-for-everyone menu right next door to The Bower, and spirit awakening experiences like watching an unforgettable sunrise from the iconic Cape Byron Lighthouse at the start of a brand new day.

So now we just need the music and we’ve gone a bit contemporary and a little bit retro with our Spotify list. It’s like a good old 90’s mix tape without the dodgy announcer talking over the end of the song you’re trying to tape. There are a few contemporary takes on songs that will transport you back to the kind of music that would’ve been around when the original beach motel was on the block now occupied by The Bower. Songs like What’s Chasing You by Marlon Williams, so reminiscent of the 60’s that you can easily imagine a Kombi cruising into the driveway. It’s music reimagined, just like our hotel. It’s all about casual, smooth, relaxed and funky. Some you’ll have heard and we hope you’ll find amongst it, some new artists and songs to expand your own playlists.

What we want most of all is that when you call up our Ultimate Spring Playlist when you go home, your reminiscence bump will be of soul-warming sunshine, the best mother nature has to offer, delightful places to shop eat and play, and The Bower as the only place to stay.

We’d love that!
